Alfabetização Feminina Idade Média

A alfabetização feminina durante a Idade Média era surpreendentemente alta. As freiras eram autoras e escribas. Muitas outras mulheres encorajavam a leitura e o aprendizado, especialmente as mulheres nobres. Um exemplo foi Christine de Pizan, uma poetisa da corte do rei Carlos VI da França.
