An important victory of science. Jones Silk, researcher at University of Pittsburg, developed a vaccine to prevent poliomyelitis

Professor Silk worked three years to develop the vaccine in the laboratories of University of Pittsburg. After tests of Rhesus monkeys, it was inoculated to two millions of American children, with good results. Professor Francis announced to journalists from all over the world the discovery of the vaccine.
