Red cotton belt, decorated with beadwork in the shape of dancing aprons
Cotton was unknown on New Guinea for a long time. Imported red cotton was experienced along the coasts and on the islands of the Geelvink Bay as a material of great strength (D. van Duuren).‖ The cotton cloth is machine woven, the rest is handwork.
