Title page of Erasmus' Novum Instrumentum
Desiderius Erasmus of Rottedam established a new version of the New testament in Greek. Erasmus' edition of the New Testament was published 5 times. Paradoxically, contrary to Erasmus' own desire for a united Christianity, his text influenced reformers such Martin Luther.
