Fort Louvigny
Fortifications of the city of Luxembourg. Western front. The redoubt was build in 1672-1673 and named after General Louvigny of the Spanish Habsbourg army who engineered the strengthening of the city's defenses in the wake of Louis XIV's European wars.
In 1733 and 1739 the redoubt was reinforced through a detached bastion designed by Simon de Bauffe, chief engineer of the Habsbourg Low Countries…
