Ivory casket
A hip-roofed ivory casket with copper gilt mounts. It has a Siculo-Arabic origin. The casket retains its original hinges and hinge straps with the remaining mounts being added later. The casket rests on four claw feet. A lock-plate wrought in the form of a flower and set with a Gallo-Roman agate cameo and a green glass paste is attached to the centre of the front panel.
