Manuscript 512 contains the Book of Optics or De aspectibus by Ibn al-Haytham (965 - 1039). It dates from the thirteenth century. The manuscript was part of the merged libraries of Ter Doest and Ten Duinen Abbey. In De aspectibus Ibn al-Haytham discusses his theories on optics, light and how mirrors and lenses work.
