Črno-bela fotografija prikazuje stanje po prvem dnevu rušenja Vrat Zhengyang (Zhengyangmen 正陽門), bolj znanih pod imenom Prednja vrata (Qianmen 前門), leta 1915. Vrata so bila osrednji prehod med zunanjim (Waicheng 外城) in notranjim, cesarskim mestom (Neicheng 内城) Pekinga.
