Dr. James Barron Shaw’s 1860s sheep ranch
James Barron Shaw was born in London and trained as a doctor in England and Scotland. He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1836.
He moved to California in 1850, arriving in Santa Barbara on 6 January 1850 where he practised medicine.
