The tambourine
SERIES TITLE: Our ethnographic values
The tambourine is a plucked string instrument of the long-necked lute family. Tambourine-type instruments are well-known throughout the world in different versions but with similar usage and structure. Tambourines used today in Central and Southern Europe originate from 19th century Hungary, through the work of musical instrument manufacturers from Budapest.
