protective charm
Framed painting with head and claws of a tiger above and the eight trigrams, ba gua, surrounding a yin yang symbol formed of two fish, one green and one red, below. The character on the left means 'kind', that on the right means 'one'. The painting would have been mounted outside a home in China to keep away evil spirits.
