Viking bronze penannular brooch & pins, Ireland
The item is a proof or a cutting from Archaeological Journal (see Bibliography).The engraving shows a bronze penannular brooch of the Viking period, found in a barrow near Tara; a ring-headed pin (or pennanular brooch?) from Co. Westmeath; and a bronze object called a harp-pin, perforated at one end and with a cross-shaped pattern at the end (it resembles a book-binder's stamp).
