Bronze, Unlooped Palstave Axe, HCA 244
A bronze unlooped palstave axe. This axe shows the characteristic stop or ledge-ridge which joins the flanges across the top. The cutting edge is splayed, the flanges large leaf shapes and the stop-ridge is straight. The flanges continue only slightly beyond the ridge with only a slight undercut pocket.
