Karel I cigar factory tiles, Eindhoven
These tiles are all that remains of the Karel I cigar factory which once stood in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
It was founded by Henri van Abbe in 1908.
By 1915 business was booming, so van Abbe took over another factory and expanded again in 1917. Van Abbe was one of Eindhoven's largest employers, with hundreds of workers.
