Embroidered wall protectors

Wall protectors usually follow the same scheme: a naive idealised picture of life with a couple in love or a housewife busy in the kitchen, surrounded by floral motifs. The poem was embroidered in the centre or around the drawing. The text came from folk songs, art songs or from the Bible. It carried life wisdom and admonitions and had emotional or humorous content.
