Roman tile tomb from York
The drawing shows the tomb reconstructed (a triangular construction of three flat tiles (tegulae) joined by three gutter-tiles (ibricis) on the ridge), and the contents of the tomb: a flagon, a bottle, a fragment of slate, and an urn, as well as a silver signet ring (Medieval or post-Medieval, with monogram in black-letter), found nearby.
