Barrow at Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire
The item is a letter from J Allen Tregelles to Sir John Evans, dated 29 December 1902. It refers to Sir John Evan's excavation report on a barrow at Hoddesdonbury, and sends a plan of the site (Primeval Antiquities 94) by Tregelles, which he says he had intended to publish in a history of Hoddesdon which he was then editing. He suggests a possible interpretation of the earthwork as a house site.
