Quern(s) from Winterton, North Lincolnshire
The drawing shows a top view and a cross section of the bottom half of a quern found with fragments of others, bones (perhaps of a dog) lying beneath them, and some pottery, three feet below the surface in January 1868 by a labourer digging for stone in Winterton, North Lincolnshire. The stone was thought to be a local lias.
