NO 71204 57521 A watching brief was kept on 28 October 2011 during the machine-excavation of a small trench to the rear of the former Salutation Inn which is being converted to apartments. Below modern concrete were remnants of a cobbled yard of 19th-/20th-century date over 0.5m of rubble and other debris.
